PROFILE

Graphic designer / creative desktop publisher and semi-professional photographer with a huge experience at various renowned advertising agencies until 2015. Since than freelance. Expert in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom and Illustrator. Subsequently a good Keynote and PowerPoint designer. I also use Muse and After Effects. I have a sharp eye for detail and get satisfied by shaping a concept or brand identity with just the right subtleties. Lay-out, framing, line-, word- and letter spacing, it’s an absolute challenge to get the appropriate typeface to fit the purpose. Because despite the speed and volatility of current campaigns and presentations, it has to be graphically right. Hence, a digital craftsman. Or a stickler, as you wish.

 

 

Next to my design work photography is my big passion. What once began as an out of hand running hobby, developed into an addition to my regular dtp and design work. I photograph as well in the studio indoors (packsshots) or at events outside. Digital or analogue when asked. I’m a good image editor and I’m not affraid for high res image retouch or image manipulation. This makes me a versatile person in any studio.

 

In short, with my experience and assets of typography/typesetting and lay-out specialist in one hand and photography in the other I will fit in any design and advertising agency. But obviously any company can hire me directly too.

BAVARIA | SELMORE - When buying a sixpack of Bavaria, you got a speakerset for your mobile phone with it. I made posters, outdoor and package. Also I photographed the can and the speakerset for in the design and on the package. In collaboration with visual artist Zender.

BRAND | INDIE - Brand Craft Beer Bar and stage for Pinkpop.

ROTTERDAMMERTJES  - Design of logo and identity. Made the packages (visuals by André Postma), Desgin of ads, posts, packaging and everything. Also photography for communication purposes

TYPOGRAPHY FONT DESIGN

OLD AMSTERDAM | ETCETERA  - For social posts for Old Amsterdam I made an inline font by combining a thin and a black.  As a good font demands, this doesn't just fit: proportions differ slightly. Font is made with the Fontself plugin in Illustrator. Spaced and exported as an Open Type Font.

ING | NEWAMS  - ING offered a sponsorship reward for the best neighborhood initiative. A campaign on social media and out of home (digital Abri's) had to boost it.

SKODA | SELMORE - Magazine ad for the SKODA Fabia RS. Photography of the model on limbo, subsequently printed on several A3 papers, glued together again on foambooard, cut out and photoshopped on an image of the car. Designed the ad according the SKODA campaign identity.

PRESENTATION GETTING ACQUINTED

ANWB | SELMORE -  Design of an acquaintance booklet of Selmore and the ANWB (Dutch travelers assistence). Photography of various management members on the balcony of the then Selmore-offices and subsequently photoshopped them into existing photo's that matched the Selmore identity in for the person typical cars.

VITENS | ROORDA - 2 Colour print labels on the bottles, banners and website images. All water sources that Vitens uses (a few hundred) got their own label with municipality borders and pinpoints to the exact place of the source.

ABN AMRO | SELMORE - The renewed inventory insurance of ABN Amro bank that also covers damage to mobile devices that happened out of home. We went out with the creative team and took pictures in the neighborhood. Subsequently I edited the chosen pictures into ABN style (a.o. a green tinge) and processed them in the design of office materials as posters, flyers, leaflets etc.

BAVARIA | SELMORE - For the abdication of Queen Beatrix we made a next day ad. Because of Willem Alexanders’ nick name of Prins Pils (Prince Beer) - a name he got during his student years - we changed the thrown into a bar stool. Intitally made for social, but also published as a full page ad in the countries largest newspaper De Telegraaf.

WAKKER DIER | PATRICK WIJNHOVEN - Producing the mechanicals and upressing and clipping the chicken from a video format into printing quality for the award winning Skip de AH Kip campaign. I also made with Patrick over time various newspaper and magazine ads involving image retouch and making mechanicals. And lots of out of home, both print as digital.

UNILEVER | JOE PUBLIC - Design, image retouch (creating key visuals) and production of various materials for Unilever brands to create awareness for their sustainable packaging made of recycled plastics. Animation and stills for social media, (digital) out of home, advertising, POS and more.
